ANCHORED IN HOPE THERAPY LLC

Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul. As an anchor holds the ship when the storms are raging, so this hope holds the soul steadfast. Heb 6:19

MICHELLE ASBY
MSW LCSW LSCSW

“There is both challenge and opportunity in stressful times. Therapy is one solution to build resiliency to battle any challenge.”

Michelle Asby

Many people have asked me over the years “Why do people go to therapy? How do I choose a therapist?” My response is “As a gift to their wellness. Just like you see a physician for medical needs, your emotional health needs a check up too.” Choosing a therapist requires some thoughtful research. I suggest reading about their background, education, experience and ensure they can tell you what they can offer. If it lines up with your needs it is likely a good fit.

We all have a mental health status which falls on a continuum from healthy to unhealthy. When we neglect to care for our mental health, our mental health status changes and can greatly affect our daily lives. Common factors that impact our mental wellness may include stress levels, major life changes, changes in mood (with or without reason), a traumatic event, anxiety that has impacted daily functioning, poor sleep, grief and loss, or a pandemic.

If you find your mental wellness waning and can relate to feeling dissatisfied, more hopeless than usual, down or melancholy, anxious or afraid, paranoid or suspicious, lost and alone, sleeping more often, using alcohol more frequently, and withdrawing from friends and family, it might be advantageous to see a therapist.

I make it my priority to listen, develop a plan that is collaborative, set meaningful goals for therapeutic change, and create a trusted space to meet your unique needs.

GROUP THERAPY

A Happier, Healthier You

Group therapy offers a unique experience for you to share and gain insight from your peers. Joining a group of strangers may sound intimidating at first, but group therapy provides benefits that individual therapy may not. It is common for individuals that attend group therapy to come in skeptical, but are quickly surprised and pleased with the experience.
